Lake Quassapaug Amusement Park has a very rich history. Prior to 1937, when the park was established, the area was a well known summer resort and there was a clambake catering service that predated its use as a resort still in operation. When Lake Quassapaug Amusement Park was opened in 1937, it provided a picnic area, paddle boats and a carousel, which is still in existence today. Lake Quassapaug Amusement Park officially became an amusement park after World War II, and over the years, the park has added many new attractions.
Today, Lake Quassapaug Amusement Park contains 20 different rides for children of all ages, a redemption arcade, and swimming, as well as hot dog, pizza, and ice cream stands. Lake Quassapaug Amusement Park continues a tradition of catering clambakes for groups and providing picnicking facilities.
Lake Quassapaug Amusement Park in Middlebury, CT has remained one of the most popular attractions in the Greater Waterbury area for the last three decades. During the summer months, families and groups alike have enjoyed the atmosphere provided by the park’s settings. Lake Quassapaug Amusement Park still has Quarter Night every Friday, where tickets for all the rides are 25 cents; the soda and hot dog stands are now 50 cents.
