We've all heard of the Olympic Games, and some of us have heard of the X Games...but have you heard of the Huntsman World Senior Games? Well if you haven't, you should read on...this is great news to active seniors everywhere! October 5 - 17th, 2009...save those dates!
The series began in 1987, then called the World Senior Games, it is an international event dedicated to participants 50+ who know that enjoying and active lifestyle is the secret to happiness and longevity. In 1989 the Huntsman Corporation became the games principle sponsor; hence, the name change. In addition the the competitive events, the Huntsman World Senior Games hosts several health screening tests and volunteers provide diagnostic equipment and staffing. Band concerts, dancing and awards ceremonies are all part of the festivities adding a social atmosphere to this competitive event.
