Mike - I believe in the power of video. I really do. But I totally resist it because I'm not comfortable in front of a camera. Especially a darned video camera! LOL Maybe I'll mellow in time.
I hear you and heard Katerina on her new video too. I still havent gathered enough nerves to do this just yet. My foreign accent bothers me ALOT.
Hi Mike! Congratulations on taking that BIG step--I'm with you, it passed me by but, once I finally DID it, the task is ALOT easier! My encouragement to you--don't stop now! Do SEVERAL of them so that they're second nature to you. That is the mistake that I have made: I created a couple, then that intimidation factor took over again and I need to just get out there and do one a week until it IS second nature for me.
Great post giving kudos to your instructors. I look forward to seeing your posts sharing what you've learned!
Mike, I tried it but was not pleased with the results. I'll be practicing more and will have it perfected soon. See you at NAR!
Leolinda,
Your experience was mirrored in the class. I don't think one of us liked ourselves in the video the first time. The interesting thing is that all of us thought the rest of the folks looked and sounded great. It made me chuckle.
Debe,
I'm working on getting that first one out the door. I attended a seminar up in Scottsdale yesterday, took my new Flip Video, and took enough "footage" to do a story. Your comment is ENCOURAGING! Thanks.
Loreena,
The interesting thing about accents is that the rest of us don't mind at all. As a kid, I grew up in Suriname, a country in which the national language is Dutch. As a young teenager, I was self-conscious about my accent when speaking Dutch. My friends helped me understand that they cared not one bit about my accent; they were interested in communication. There's a lesson there for me in my business with respect to cold-calling, video blogging, and everything else that puts me out of my comfort zone.
I hope you jump right in with a video post. I'll see you on your blog.
Carol,
Thanks for being the first to comment. Ditto my comment back to Loreena. One thing I learned from Len and Theresa is that the camera doesn't always have to be on me. It shouldn't be, in fact. That's the cool thing about learning to narrate "voice-over" with other content. (Now let's see if I can put it into practice...) LOL

Mike,
Good Post. I have met Len and Theresa. They are both very dynamic and they think big. They are an asset to lots of agents in Tucson. Now you are going to "force" me to take their class...
Patrick,
Oh, maybe a little arm-twisting... Thanks for commenting.
Bill,
We aim to please. :)

I love video and am using it a good bit for localism posts here, there and everywhere. Can't wait to see what you come up with. I'm sure it will be wonderful.
I love classes taught by Len and/or Theresa! I'll have to take the next one.
Mike,
You said, "In a room filled with REALTORs, I was the only lender"...Isn't that a LOs dream...!!! Thanks, Fran

Hi Mike - I'm late to the video creation party, too. Couldn't see how it would fit in with the Blogging, but I guess if everyone else is doing it, it's time to join the party, eh?
Hi Mike,
I think Video is definitely the way to go. However, as you mentioned, it takes time to become a true expert! My business has grown substantially and I'm in the process of trying to put the right people in place to handle the growth! Keep up the good work!
I'm putting this in my schedule to do their class in San Diego. Thanks for the heads up.
Terry,
You won't be disappointed!
Tracy,
I'm following in your footsteps.
Karen,
The video has meta-tags just like your posts, I learned. And if we do it right, we engage our readers. I'm pretty excited about the prospects.
Lou,
I'm coming over to your blog to check out your video! Thanks for commenting.
