The law in Virginia determines "agency".
- When I list a home for sale I am a seller's agent
- When I sell a home to clients I am a buyer's agent
Any real estate agent in Virginia can be either a
- Buyer's agent or a
- Seller's agent - it has nothing to do with the type of license they have.
When buying a home I recommend you work with a real estate agent who has earned the right to display the REBAC logo and be known as an Accredited Buyer Representative. My wife, Karen, is the member of the Kruschka Team who is an Accredited Buyer Representative and works with our buying clients.
Members of the Real Estate Buyer Agent Council have received specialized training in buyer representation. For example, alll doctors practice medicine, but some of them have received specialized training in particular areas of medicine that enables them to treat their patients who need that area of specialization more effectively.
Accredited Buyer Representatives have completed specialized training that enables them to represent buyers with in-depth knowledge in the field of buyer representation.
