Scottsdale REALTORS® group donates flags to area schools

US Flag The Scottsdale Area Association of Realtors (SAAR) has approved a measure to donate 300 American flags to the Scottsdale Unified School District. The donation will help the district comply with a federal law requiring each classroom to display a flag by the end of July. After the approval the process of distributing the flags begin immediately. The Realtors SAAR group, with its 9,000 members, also is working with Northeast Valley schools on a celebration of the U.S. Comstitution on September 17, 2007, at the Scottsdale Civic Center Mall.

First, that's really a cute picture of you two.

I was thinking this morning that a great present to new homeowners would be one of the American flag and pole sets that all hardware stores carry.

When I was in public schools in Galveston, Texas just after WWII, every classroom had an American and a Texas flag in a standard. Of course, we also started each day with a student drawn by lottery who would say a prayer over the school public address system.

Maybe someday we'll creep back to that again.

I think that it's awesome that you have a law that requires all classrooms to display an American flag. Kudos to your government! Now lets get the rest of the country in the same boat, and lets add the pledge every morning like it used to be.
