I am Using My Blog to Help Local Charities....You Can Too!

By
Real Estate Agent with Homeward Real Estate

My growing readership on the Real Estate Sizzle, and the participation in Project Blogger, has inspired me to use my blog to make a difference in my local community, and raise some monies for local charities.  I found a great widget, that collects and tracks the donations.  You can read my post, and get your own widget, on ...

The Real Estate Sizzle today...get your own widget and make a difference in your community.

This is interesting.  Where do you go to set things like this up in your own community????  I would be interested in doing something like this in Southern California.

David:

You can design your own widget and add it to your blog.  You can set it all up on www.networkforgood.org.

Have a look at what actor Kevin Bacon did at www.SixDegrees.org

It was easy...I had it up in a matter of minutes...Good Luck!

Jackie...

You have no idea how pleased I am to see you do this. A long time ago we did something like this with our blog here on AR. The only problem was that I received nasty emails from other members telling me that I should not be using my blog to help someone. It is so exciting to see the freedom that has developed on this site as it grows. Thank you so much for sharing and being willing to share.

TLW...ROAR!

Thank you...I was a busy fundraising woman when I was recruited into Real Estate. In fact, I was Chairman of the Orchestra guild's designer showhouse and that house just came back on the market...13 years later.  It was on Broker's Open today, so it was fun to go back to the place that "started" my real estate career.

I feel that I have such a high readership that I have an OBLIGATION to use it, not only to provide information but to help in the community that provides me with a wonderful career and the opportunity to voice my opinion on my blog. That is just my personal value system. Some people are uncomfortable with that, and that is okay for them.  Anyone who knows me, knows that I am always willing to help and I love to challenge myself with goals that I want to achieve.  I want to raise $5000 asap for these, and other local charities. I hope other bloggers will feel that it is also the right thing for them, and their blog, and I am happy to help with the widgets I found. Jeff Turner was quick to respond to my plea for help(thanks again, Jeff) and  sent  me one called "chipin"...it requires a paypal account, which doesn't work for me, but that might work for someone else.

Hi, Jackie!

This is a very good example for all of us, at least those of us here on AR.

I like what you've just started and continue to do for the good of the many people out there in dire need.  It's a totally wonderful idea to create this awareness among us all and get people to participate.

Good luck!  And, thanks for sharing this.
