An Unexpected Dinner Guest

I have an amazingly beautiful home listed just south of Nixa at 386 Plumtree Dr., that is surrounded by gorgeous woods and scenery.

Tonight, I received the following email from my seller:

I was cooking steaks on the grill tonight.  I went out to check them and this guy was staring at me when I opened the door then ran off.  I told the family about him and they came out to look and he happened to be coming back up the stairs.  I grabbed the camera and when I got back he was sitting out in the grass posing for us.  He stayed around for a while so we shared some leftover Thanksgiving turkey with him.  See the attached photos of our guest and new friend. He's an amazing guy!!!!

Red fox

Red Fox

This is highly unusual considering red fox are very shy of humans.  This one obviously is a fan of my seller's cooking.  About a month ago I received a call from another agent telling me that there was trash strung out across the seller's lawn.  I thought this was unusual considering my seller doesn't have any pets.  I'll bet I know who the culprit is now.

Once they lose their fear of man, you'd better keep the pets inside.

Heath - yes, this is unusual since they are usually very shy of humans.  Fortunately, this homeowner does not have any pets.

Lina ~ Funny, I had a red fox at my door last Sunday around noon. He/She wasn't shy either. Maybe it is mating season?

That is very unusual for a fox to come right up around humans.  Hopefully it is not a rabies issue.

Monique - I have no idea if it's mating season.  They really are very pretty to look at.  I don't think I'd try to pet one though.  LOL

Sharon - I certainly hope it isn't a rabid fox.  I hear that is pretty rare.

This little guy looks adorable.  I don't think I've ever seen a fox in real life.  I love his bushy little tail.  Thanks for sharing this.

I would feed the raccoon and everyone thought I was crazy.  My cats would be with them too, and then they had little raccoon babies, and brought them up to the porch.  It's sad because the area has overgrown and encroached on what was a nice little "forest" area.  Thanks for the photo!  Hope the new owners are just as kind to little red foxes.

We have a neighborhood fox too, used to have two but I think one was hit by a car. People like to report on their antics in my newsletter, but no one's ever gotten such a great photo.

Cute fox!  We see a lot of deer around my house, coming from Lake Springfield area and into our neighborhood.  Mostly does and fawns, not too many bucks usually.

Lina, we have had a couple in our neighborhood too.  They are usually very shy but this one could be getting a little use to being around people.  Great photos!
