Lovely photo Kathryn.  It looks like it may have been close to sunset?  A nice crisp day for a walk?

Hello Jenny, this was indeed a crisp day (got down to about 12 F) and about mid-afternoon.  We can get some pretty long shadows at noon during winter!

John,

Looks like the falls got a little bit frosty there. Wow, that must be cold to do that. :)

That does look cold!  I do think that frozen fountains and waterfalls make great photos however!  Great job!

now that is a great photo, love to see the new ice formations over the waterfalls.  Reminds me to go visit our local walls...

Hello Steve, Yep -- we got darned cold for us!

Tony and Darcy, I'm sure the water features around here would have been turned off and winterized in other, normally colder locations.  There were several nice "ice formations" around town.

Diane, we love them too and glad you enjoyed it!

I like to see frozen moving water - something about the elements clashing with each other...besides making a great photo :)

Hello Lee and Carol, we like to see it too -- but, in other folk's photos (like your water wheel!) and not in our own town -- brrrrr!!  Kathryn and John

Wow!  How does that happen?  It seems like it wouldn't be able to freeze if it was moving.  Must have gotten quite cold.  Very pretty.

Hello Doreen, usually moving water is pretty tough to freeze up but it did get quite cold for is this time!  John

Hello Patricia, that would certainly be a worthy mention for any thinking of the polar bear swim on New Years Day!
