All this Snow has it Raining Hard in the House; Recognizing Activerain as a Learning Institution

All this snow that has been falling for the past 9 hours has finally given me the time to revisit book marked blog posts for closer viewing. It has become clear to me that I need to treat Activerain as if I am attending a learning institution, at least on a part time basis, say 8 to 10 units. We aren’t talking community college here; Activerain is right up there with the best of the Ivy League institutions. There are rules that can better ensure success while attending school at this enlightened level. First and foremost; I need to be there every day, and while I am there I need to pay attention, just attending class doesn’t cut it, extra effort in choosing additional pertinent areas of education, what I like to call homework is essential. Finally it is my responsibility to follow up on that homework, I can’t just bookmark things and never pull them back up and do the actual learning.

Let’s break it down into some steps to success at Activerain University.

I need to be there every day; that means I need to log on each and every day, I need to show up. You can’t learn if you don’t visit the institution on a regular basis. That means taking the time to sit down at the computer either at home or at the office and log on and PARTICIPATE! That means not just commenting on the 10 posts required, hitting 10 and out isn’t going the extra mile. Sometimes the best information comes at post number 12 or 13.

There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t log in and not only learn something, but end up book marking a post that has so much important information. A post that is going to require a closer concentrated look, it amazes me how many times I am actively thinking about expanding my knowledge in a certain area, and I run across an in depth post about that very subject right here on Activerain.

The last step in the equation is where the actual work begins, the crux of the biscuit so to speak. There is a lot of in depth learning that happens without being actually logged into Activerain. You need to go through those saved posts, print them out, stumble and work through the exercise until you understand it, until you could pass an exam on the information. Remembering to use the lessons on a regular basis can be a challenge in that there is a lot of information to remain Active with, it requires that you practice the lesson learned on a regular basis.

Finally, I like to look back and see where I have been, and how far along I have come. I am always amazed at the progress made, yet always uncover something that I need to, or forgot to, work on. All in all I think Activerain is no different than an online university, in content, or availability. It comes down to what you want to get out of it, as with all things, you get out of it what you put into it. Not only do I, Gerry personally benefit from the education and knowledge, but my company, Community Benefits Real Estate profits as well.

It is still snowing and I am going to have to get the buckets out and start baling with all the rain that is falling in here…..

If you or somebody you know would appreciate my services, please contact me with their information and I will be happy to help them.
