For REALTORS, closings are our payday. Usually at the holiday season, things in RE slow down a bit so we obviouslly have to plan ahead. I'm sure thankful for the business that I've had lately.
Christmas is different than most holidays - it's about giving.... giving to our children, our spouse, those we love and those who are in need. We are never more like God than when we give. (For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son.... John 3:16) When our bank account gets low - it affects our spirit and our attitude. It's Christmas and I MUST realize that I've been given THE GIFT!
Sometimes when I think of how big God is and how small I am - I usually search for words to describe how He could love us. He created us in His image and then we ignore Him and His desire for our lives. As a Dad, it breaks my heart when my kids do something or say something I don't approve of. (Let me say that I've got four amazing, respectful and obedient kids!) I can't begin to imagine how God must feel when I do or say things that hurts His heart. Then God did the most amazing thing - He gave Himself to the world. He came into His creation to reach us - to save us from ourselves. He came as a vulnerable baby born to a young girl. I have celebrated Christmas for as long as I've been alive, but as I get older and grow deeper in my faith I realize how God was fixing us by sending Jesus.
“Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.”
Christmas is grace introduced and I NEED GRACE real often. I need to dispense grace as well as be a recipient of it. Grace came to the world through Jesus.
