"America's Worst" REALTOR(R)

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Second Self Virtual Assistance

I've taken several years off from making home-cooked meals. However, since I recently moved out of the city andAmerica's Worst realtor into the county, I don't have the luxury of running to the store at a moment's notice or picking something up at a fast food joint.

Trips to town take a little more planning. As a result, I have become a Food Network Channel junkie. My latest "fix" airs every Sunday evening at 8:00pm (AZ). It's called, "The Worst Cooks in America".

Why would you care? Here's why:

  • It will make you feel better about your own culinary skills
  • It's highly entertaining
  • It actually teaches you something
  • One of the contestants is a REALTOR(R)

She's Rebecca Hooper of Sandy, Utah. I don't know her; but I love her!

She has already taught me a few things:

  • Even if you're bad at it, you can improve
  • Face your fears - what's the worst that can happen?
  • You failed this time - Learn from it and try again
  • Learn what you don't know from an expert
  • Practice, practice, practice
  • Give it all you've got

Rebecca Hooper may have been voted Worst Cook in America by her friends and family; but I vote Rebecca the most likely to succeed. With the qualities she's exhibited on TV, I'm sure she's an awesome REALTOR(R).

You go, Rebecca!

I have seen the previews however have not been able to catch it yet. After reading this I will have to make time to watch it. I too moved from the city to the country and it was an adjustment to say the least when it came to food.

Hi Raylene - Moving away from the restaurants, shopping, etc. is a challenge.  A small price to pay, though.  I hope you get to see the program.  It's great.

Hi Anna - It sure made me think of a blog!  A training manual?  Hmmm.  Now, there's a great idea!  BTW - Congratulations on your latest honor.

Pamela, I've been watching the show and never thought about looking Rebecca up!  So nice that you did.  I just wish she had more confidence that she could do what they are being asked to do.

Hi Susan - I guess it's because of what I do for a living, but it was the first thing I thought of doing when I saw that she was a realtor.  Hopefully, this show will boost her confidence.  Right now she looks so scared.

Those are really life lessons as well as cooking lessons, Pam, right?  I am a Food Network junkie as well.  I've seen the commercials but haven't seen the show yet.  I'm going to have to check it out.  I recently started stretching my culinary talents a bit more and found that it saves quite a bit of money on the grocery bill each week.  That's the biggest motivating factor.  In fact, I made some great garlic meatballs over rice this weekend that are low in fat and really yummy.  Next time I make them, I'll be taking photos and make it into a post.

Hi Heather - Not only does cooking at home save money, it also stretches your imagination.  I can't run to the store to pick up ingredients at a moment's notice.  So, I end up improvising and am usually surprised at the result.  I just created a perfect stuffed pork roast.  The recipe called for spinach and seasonings.  Not having spinach, I made some savory dressing and used it in place of the stuffing.  It's probably the best stuffed pork roast I've ever had.
