THE MASSACHUSETTS EFFECT--A POLITICAL TIPPING POINT ?.....

By

I have been watching what is going on in this country in the political realm with real concern. It appears to me that the voice of the people has been muffled to such a degree that as a country, we can't have a say anymore in what is going to be done in the way of new legislation.

I call it the Massachusetts Effect--a political tipping point.

Today, as the special election takes place in Massachusetts, I wonder if the population of this state will bring reality back to the world of politics...will this election bring the people of Massachusetts out to speak for the rest of us?  Will this critical election allow us all to be more effective in our ability to affect our future and our childrens future? Lets all watch and wait without fear that this is the moment---whether there is a new party in power or not in the Massachusetts Senate, this is a TIPPING POINT IN OUR COUNTRY

Our Founding Fathers would be very proud! Our whole way of life may change back to the way they intended: We the people are the government---and we put into power those whom we trust to take us into the future without fear of where we are going. We the people are the force behind this incredibly powerful body of decision makers and we CAN be the deciders as to where and how we get there!

Hi Mike,

I agree with you that the voices have been loud and clear---to a few. The media has been instrumental in making it seem muffled, at least to our leaders! I firmly agree with your statement about the "metaphysical" aspect of the tipping point---there is really nothing those of us outside of Massachusetts can do to effect the results (well maybe a phone call or 2) but the "forces" can, and will!

Thanks for your response...

Paula- I am anxiously awaiting to see how this election goes. I did in fact call a few business colleagues in MA to flat out ask them to vote for Brown. They all said yes. A few calls may help.

I really have high hopes for this one.  But if we lose, then we're like Rocky (the first movie). We weren't supposed to win ... but we went the distance.

What's with picking on the fact he drives a truck (GM) with 200,000 miles?

Mike,

I think you are correct---this is an opportunity that seemed to come out of nowhere; now we MUST pay attention to what our leaders are trying to do.

Wallace,

The truck is because nothing else came to mind for our President---that lets you know that he didn't even have time to study who the competition is! ....amazing!

Paula,  We are all tuning in at 8pm tonight. History may be made.  Hopefully the ACORN machine did not stuff the ballot box.  The people of Mass must know how critical this is.

Hi Bonnie,

Right now it is 6:30 and I can't believe the channels not covering this major news story---I did watch a little of MSNBC--and surprisingly, that blowhard was doing a good job of covering why this is happening..even to the point of laughing when a guest quoted the Verizon ad "Can you here me now"???

RE: the ACORN machine: it doesn't matter if they stuff the ballot box--the election has already made a major statement!

Thanks for your input!

Howie Carr of Boston radio says Abington numbers were 66 - 30 something in favor of Brown. Different precincts are going heavier than others.

You hit the nail on the head with WE THE PEOPLE.  It would be really something if the people were able to overcome Special Interest lobbying groups.

Thank you so much for the support Bonnie; and you better believe we are all in this together! I think the tipping point was reached and call it what you will, or what they will, this is something big! I have been so frightened for the last year and a half---now maybe I can sleep a full night again! I feel that we have put things right in the country again, but the work is just beginning....God Bless America!!!
