I have been working with buyers of all types in Colorado Springs for awhile now and I really find it rewarding. Something about helping someone hunt for the perfect house is really exciting to me.
Recently, I was working with a first-time home buyer. He is active duty in the military and recently engaged to be married. They decided it was time to buy a house.
After talking to a lender and getting pre-qualified, he realized that his mortgage payment will now be LESS THAN HIS RENT. Also, he learned about the tax write-offs involved with home ownership. Wow-What could be better! We found an amazing bank-owned property that they loved.
The best part is when I told him about the First-Time Home Buyer Tax Credit of $8,000! He wasn't sure of the details, but this was the icing on his home-buying cake.
At Closing, he and his fiance' attended. He was nervously signing all of the papers. Once we were finished, I shook hands, and said my goodbyes.
As I was driving off, I turned back to look at this excited couple. They were standing outside the building. The next thing that happened looked like it was meant for a home-buying commercial. He gave her a BIG kiss and then pumped his fist in the air with his new keys in his hand. It was a really special moment. This was probably one of the biggest days of his life. I try not to take that for granted.
This is why I love working with buyers. This is why I also love helping first-time home buyers realize their dream of home-ownership.
