Staying focused in an era of real estate fuzziness! It’s not as easy as you think!

Staying focused in an era of real estate real estate fuzziness! It’s not as easy as you think! The real estate market is topsy-turvy right now, and the sudden onslaught of technology designed to help both consumers and real estate professionals muddle through the confusion seems to have only wreaked more havoc.

Because the ways that we do business now can change from day to day, we can only attempt to react to different methods of information distribution and communication, and that requires constant adaptation to an ever-changing business model.

If you throw new restrictions, rules, and regulations into the mix, the task of keeping afloat can at times seem almost overwhelming. We spend as much time tweaking our businesses as we do conducting business.

It’s a challenge that many have chosen not to accept, opting for a less dynamic means of earning a living. However, many remain, and some have chosen to enter the field despite the tempestuous times.

And between the battle-tested long-timers and the new recruits, there are some fine professionals that are ready and willing to help, and they are dedicated to getting the job done despite contrarian market forces.

A seasoned guide can help traverse even the most perilous territory. Don’t go it alone, align yourself with powerful allies that can work with you in achieving your real estate goals.

It’s the sensible  thing to do!

Richard.....mentoring is a very important part of real estate.....I interpret a powerful ally to be a mentor.....remember to be a mentor to others and make sure you have one for you.....everyone needs a mentor, even the mentor.

Richard , Good Advice for anyone entering the field at this time...I have also taken to offering some time to local boards looking for ways to raise money and stream-line their marketing. It helps them and puts me in a position of influence at different local non-profits.

Richard:  A word to the wise.  Choose mentors carefully.   A new agent in our office asked for guidance writing a short sale offer from a top producer.  The top producer helped her and her client write a great offer.  However, the top producer's client also wanted the property.  So the top producer, knowing what the mentee's client offered, had her client write a higher and better offer. Not everyone succeeding in this business and making lots of sales is someone that is walking an ethical pathway.

I do think that community involvement is an excellent way to enhance your business. Thanks for the comment!

Mentoring a newbie can be very rewarding. Especially when they start to make a person smoe money. ;-}

I feel I spend more time because of technology working than when i just had the basics.

I have learned to only use a couple of mortgage companies.  I haven't had much trouble with closing companies but the banks certain loan officers have chosen have been a nightmare.

Great information.  We all need to be mentored and to mentor.  The best way to learn something is to teach it to someone else.  I am still trying to figure out the new GFE...but I am not alone.  Best of luck to you and those of us your blogs help mentor.

My broker shared this with me.  Know the way, go the way and then show the way.  I want my mentor not only to have the knowledge, but have experieced it.

Change has been a part of this business for a long time and it looks as though it will continue for awhile.  If folks don't like change then this is not the business to be in.

Richard~  the only constant is change and we certainly are seeing a bunch of it.  Some of the new agents are only familiar with all of the new rules and regs.  At times we may have to keep up with them!

Times are hard in a lot of ways without a doubt. Like no other time it is so important to have someone on your side that knows what they are doing.
