Yesterday I had an AHA moment leaving a sandwich shop. I was greeted upon entering with a "can I help you?" and order taker never made eye contact so there was never a warm greeting. After placing the order she asked me to have a seat and she would bring my order over. Again, upon delivering my order, she never made eye contact and her expression never changed. When I went to pay my bill, she was there to take my money and again nothing had changed. Indifferent!
As I left, I thought how important it is to let people know that you are thankful for their business. A simple smile and thank you would have worked! While the food was good, I will probably not return as there are other places that appreciate your business and let you know it.
Be sure you always let the people that do business with you how much you appreciate them.
The price of a smile? It is FREE and PRICELESS!

Good Point...When I am treated like that I try to give the business a second chance for the owners sake. I also feel grateful that I am not burdened with the attitude your waitress had.

So true. Makes us realize though we need to give out that same warm feeling. It worries me these days how many people don't look at you when you are speaking. Change starts with us I always say.

Jeff, You are so right about a smile to convey appreciation. I also make a point of telling them....I really do appreciate your business! Have a Great Week!
