The new ReStore has bargains that seem too good to be true - but they are.
If you are looking for construction materials, electrical supplies, plumbing fixtures, furniture and home décor, flooring of all types, doors and windows, appliances, paint, hardware or cabinets, Habitat for Humanity's ReStore is the place to go.
The 18,000 square-foot ReStore opened in McKinney in October and accepts donations of these and more items and resells them to the community at prices which are at least 20 to 50 percent below cost. In addition to gently-used objects, many are new, donated by businesses from returns, overstocks and model-year changes.
The store stocks new rugs, paint and supplies, hardware including door and cabinet knobs and honey oak cabinets in stock, which are all wood with no particle board. ReStore will also draw your free kitchen plan when you purchase cabinets.
All proceeds from the store are used by North Collin County Habitat for Humanity to build homes for eligible residents currently living in poverty housing. There are more than 600 ReStores in the U.S. and 40 in Texas.
The store offers free pick up of large items and tax receipts for all donations.
Appointments may be made by calling ReStore at 972-548-9112. Store hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is located at 421 Power House in McKinney, just north of the intersection of Highway 380 (University Dr.) and Highway 5 (McDonald Street). http://www.mckinneyrestore.com/
