Canada Wins Gold!

Canada and their neighbors to the south the USA shared more than good will and a common border today!  Both countries have fought enemies throughout history, and generally prevailled through time and history.

But this year 2010, they were rivals at the Olympic Games held in Vancouver, Canada.  It was a rivalry that was unmatched, not even the USA game with Russia stirred as much interest, when USA won that game!

Today's game was exciting, envigorating, and an absolute thriller to watch. CANADA won todays game after a struggling team USA fought their way back from a 2-0 initial score. Team USA scored twice tying the game in the third period with only 25 seconds remaining in the game, after pulling their goally, and giving them an extra forward.  That set the scene for Overtime, sudden death overtime!

It was unfortunate for team USA, but team Canada scored and ended the USA's chance at gold.

Way to Go CANADA! Congratulations on winning Gold!, in Canada, on home ice.  And Congratulations TEAM USA for winning the SILVER at the 2010 Olympics!  A Job well done! And enjoyed by Americans and           Vancouver 2010 OlympicsCanadians alike, making each Nation Proud!

Yes it was a great game! I realize I know the words to the Canadian national anthem, our good neighbors to the north.  What a fabulous show this has been, thanks Canada! Now, I am looking forward to our Chicago Blackhawks coming back and hopefully winning us the Stanley Cup this year.

Hello Linda, it's somewhat funny, I get all choked up when I hear either anthem, USA or Canada's.  I hope you get lucky and Chicago makes it through the playoffs, but I'm dreaming here,"I hope they play the Toronto Maple Leafs!" My hometown, my home team, I have to cheer for them.  Besides, they need all the help they can get.

David you're right, "Canada is just awesome"  But I can honestly say that I'm proud to be an American as well, as a proud Canadian.

Michelle, I think both countries share a mutual respect of each other, and if you think about it, most of the competitors know each other, so its definitely mutual respect, camaraderie, and athletic abilities that they enjoy in mutual expression of playing a game they love, we get to watch and enjoy it as entertainment, but also competition.
