Traveling for the Easter Holiday?
If you are traveling for the weekend the trip planning can be completely different than for a day. That isn't a news flash...but the times you travel may be one of the best considerations you can do for your trip. Many metropolitan areas will have congested highways.
Now add the road construction that has been started and your travel plans can become extended, leaving
less family spent with family.
We typically look at road construction issues with a Google search of the state DOT (Department of Transportation) site. In Michigan it is MDOT.com, your state will be easy to find. Some of the new GPS units automatically warn you of road construction. The variable is "IF" it is logged in by the DOT. The other variable is "IF" the project is on time and remain on schedule. We all know government sponsored project are "always on time and within budget!"
Remember Easter is for more than visiting...remember the reason. I just hired another IT person for our company and he happens to be Haitian with parents living in Haiti. We rarely consider the devastation and continued needs after a country as small a Haiti is devastated.
The people of the United States give so freely and we have so many people in our own country hurting, yet we always step up. Chatting with my new employee he had nothing but praise for the efforts. He also said food prices have tripled since the earth quake. Even when so much is given corruption strikes and greed creates wealth.
