Sammamish Neighborhoods, Shannonwood
Tucked away from the main roads in Sammamish, perched on the edge of the Pine Lake Plateau, with some homes overlooking Lake Sammamish is a neighborhood known as Shannonwood. Built mostly in the early 1980's Shannonwood is a mixture of predominately smaller affordable homes with a few larger ones with western views.
Located in the northern end of Sammamish in the Lake Washington School District, Shannonwood is an easy walk to Margaret Mead Elementary and Bill Reams East Sammamish Park. Most of the homes are between 1200-1800 square feet, offer 3-4 bedrooms and 1.75-2.5 baths. Shannonwood is generally a quiet neighborhood of cul-de-sacs and small neighborhood streets. Homes sold in the past year have gone from the mid $300's to the upper middle $400's, with the view homes going into the $500's. These values are well supported by the adjacent neighborhoods of Sterlingwood, Timberline Ridge and Sahalee, each of which are made up of more expensive homes.

Convenient for shopping, commuting and access to the schools and parks, Shannonwood is a popular location for first time buyers and those relocating to Sammamish. Microsoft, a major employer is about 20 minutes away by car or the Microsoft Connector bus which picks up behind the nearby Safeway store, about 5 minutes away. Downtown Seattle is accessible via either the 520 bridge to the north, or I-90 to the south. Usual commute times to Seattle are 30-45 minutes.
The view homes set on the ridge can take in Lake Sammamish, Seattle and even the Olympic Mountains on a clear day.
