If a picture is worth 1000 words, then what is a video worth? In response to your requests for more ideas on building your data base Tyler Durden style I give you the following VLOG. Not as funny as Broker Bryant, but something I can use on my Blog Calabasas. Would love to have your input.

Bob-Thanks, I'm taking my show on the road next week and we'll be doing a video about the Calabasas Farmers Market.  Hopefully this will get a little easier.

Christina- I'm glad that you finally got the video to work.  We played CashFlow 101 on Wednesday night and had 12 players.  I'm going to schedule a game every Friday night now in my neighborhood.  I'll keep you posted on the progress.

Margaret - This is exactly what I'm trying to do.  It's funny, we "feel" like we know TV personalities even know we never met them.  This is what I'm trying to do with the videos.  I want people to feel like they know me already and hopefully they'll like me and think to call me when it's time to buy or sell a home.

Diane - I will keep you up to date on what I'm doing here.  I hope I'm not the evil twin.  =) Yikes!

Marti -Thanks, I have a whole series of videos in production right now.  Several about what I do, but even more about our town and what it offers.  I'd like to get local people involved if possible so once I get a nice portfolio of videos done and published on my blogcalabasas I plan on soliciting user generated or user ideas for videos, interviews etc.

Deborah - I hide the shyness well (I have many years of experience pretending that I'm outgoing), plus there was no one else around when I shot the video, only my dog.

Jeff - Thanks, it wasn't scripted.  We'll see if works and consumers can relate or think it's too personal.

Hi Tracey, I think it is great! It really gave me a feel for who YOU are.  That's the first thing that jumped out at me.  If I was a seller or buyer, I'd feel more comfortable calling you since I'd feel like I know what to expect.

The ideas were great as well!  I especially loved the popcorn one.  I'll incorporate that into my drop offs.

THANKS!

I love this idea!  You are an amazingly creative person.  I checked out your website and love the video you have there as well.  With the increased traffic on the web, I love anything that stands out from the pack. Thanks for the inspiration.

Nice job Tracey! You did great in front of the camera. The video player was a great choice as well. I think people can relate to this medium and you did not over do it.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH ..........................I wanna do that! That is such a GREAT idea, unfortunately, my camera doesn't have the ability to take short clips of video WITH sound. I'm inspired! I have a CD video camera, maybe I could do something with that!  Maybe I'll sing a song or two...   :)

Very cute...and I actually watched your whole video....I've got a short attention span, so it must be pretty interersting!  Tell me how the response has been in gaining buisness, do you keep track of what has gotten the most response?  Most actual clients?

Irinia -Glad you like the idea.  We're shooting some Localism videos this weekend so I'll post them for feedback.

Lori - I think web video is here to stay and it's becoming mainstream at this point.

Ralph - This video project has come a long way since those first few attempts almost two years ago.

Doug -Thanks for your comments.  Any constructive criticism helps to fine tune this mode of communication.

Paula - We're going to do staging, open houses, local events, out of the box marketing and also feature some interesting local people and businesses.  It's not just about me, it's also about our town.

Laura - Stay tuned for more ideas.....little packets of hand cream that say "I've go you covered" and more.

Rey - I saw your video, it's a great medium to "connect" with your clients.

Rita - Thanks Rita, must have been that glass of wine that I had before we turned on the camera. (I'm kidding, no wine involved, I showed property later that day).

Christy -Most newer PC's come with Windows Movie Maker already installed, so if you film something on a camera with a CD you can edit it and then output from Movie Maker.  I use Final Cut Pro to edit my videos.

Dionne - You're very welcome, stay tuned for more.

Rebecca - I have closed two transactions directly from my videos so far.  Both from open house videos that I've done.  Check out my website for an example.

Tracey, great creative thinking. I checked out your web-site, it's very impressive- a client can get a sense of the you as a person, not just the words on the web page. I wanted to ask if you own the VidiOH company or do you just contract with them to produce the videos?

Nancy - Stay tuned, more to come.  Thanks!

Aziz- My pleasure

Vincent - With the change in the market, we're changing our strategy a little so the thinking caps are on, but changing direction a little.

Barbara - Thanks

Faina = I own the company, so we write and produce our own videos.

Tracey, you amaze me.  You really stick your neck out there to help and share.  That is so hard to come by. I'm not trying to pull in any negative, so please don't take it that way, but I do have to say it's a rarity. Thank you so much for sharing.  I'm not going to link my blog, but will you check out my new blog today and let me know what you think.  Not a soul has commented and I thought it was a great idea.  I struggle with my blogs I'll tell you.  Do you have any pointers on that?

Real estate agents use various tools and techniques to market themselves to try and generate new business and get listings. Promotional Video is one tool that can help create a sense of rapport between a realtor and their prospective client when perusing your web site. Writing content for you marketing script can be a bit daunting, but can easily be broken down into various pieces to flow effortlessly off of the actors lips when he or she speaks about you and your capabilities. Essentially the three areas of a video constitute the opening, the hook and the close. The opening sets the stage for presenting the agent in a favorable manner and creates an instant impression of market experience and customer focus. After the opening, the hook builds upon the groundwork put in place by touting the agents abilities to develop a unique marketing plan for the customer and sets them apart from competing agents and real estate companies. The close completes the script by summarizing all of the reasons why the agent is the best choice for the current seller and creates a sense of urgency why they should contact the agent. The close wraps up the entire package that represents the realty agent as a professional who can take care of their needs and meet their objectives when selling their home.
