Tomorrow's Tuesday: A Look at Things to Come!

Mister Green-jeans aka Michael, my husband has finished planting the garden and I am proud to announce the diverse selection of fruits and vegetables.

I imagine he will be able to hold his own Farmer's Market when everything becomes ripe and is ready to harvest.

We have:

  • Red Grapes
  • Green Grapes
  • Raspberries
  • Strawberries
  • Corn
  • Red Onions
  • White Onions
  • Yellow Onions
  • Carrots

Tomorrow's Tuesday: A Look at Things to Come!

 Also:

Red Bell Pepper

Green Bell Pepper

Anaheim Peppers

Chili Peppers

Jalapeno Peppers

Zucchini

Brussels Sprouts

Asparagus

Artichokes

Broccoli

Cucumber

Summer Squash

Banana Squash

  • Watermelon
  • Cantaloupe
  • Pole Beans
  • Sweet Peas
  • Eggplant
  • Cabbage

Tomorrow's Tuesday: A Look at Things to Come!

  • Roma Tomatoes
  • Grape Tomatoes
  • Cherry Tomatoes
  • Beef Eater Tomatoes
  • Bush Goliath Tomatoes

International Herb Garden includes:

  • Garlic
  • English Basil
  • Sweet Basil
  • Lavender
  • Cilantro
  • Chives
  • Parsley
  • Italian Oregano
  • Greek Oregano
  • French Thyme

He also has plans for a variety of skinless cucumbers, only because I asked for them and he is sweet enough to find room in this 50' x 50' raised bed garden.

We will save a lot of money through the summer and fall months on produce and I'm excited to see the results of all the hard work that went into getting it done. I plan to take photos as everything begins to bear fruit and I'm looking forward to the things that come!

Wanda I like farms. I haven't been on one though since like 1988 in Nigeria. During my stay in Nigeria from 1983-1989,me along with my brothers and family relatives worked on my father's farm.  My old man was big on planting corn. We ate a lot of it too-LOL. Just gave you a little information on how I came up with  name "THE REAL ESTATE FARMER". Congrats on the Feature and much success with the garden. Great post.

Debra, As long as we pull weeds as they come on, very little maintenance is required , we just need to make sure we keep up when everything ripens! Some things are staggered to become ripe at different times.

Chris, Everyone does like the benefits at harvest time!

Thanks Patricia! I'm looking forward to the salads and fresh fruit for sure!

Kristi, I will take photos as the garden grows.

Chris, It took some work but now it is to be appreciated!

Marney, He may have to do that eventually!

Thanks Jen! We have a lot of limestone in our soil, so we ordered dirt to fill the beds and mixed in nutrients, sand and fertilizer and it's ready for planting. (My husband knows the secret formula!)

Lanre, Thank you for sharing some of your family history, fellow farmer, I was born on a farm in Minnesota and that's why I appreciate it too (I especially have a love of cows). I appreciate the kind words as well!

WOW! You have an amazing gardener in your house. I had to show my husband the photos of our garde. He plants a garden in our yard but it is nothing to yours. We hope to have a garden like yours when we move out onto our land.

Ha-ha! Al & Peggy, Now that's funny and yes, my husband has been steadily working for the past couple of weeks to get everything ready and perfect for planting! Yesterday was a beautiful day, perfect for taking pictures outside.

Michele, That's my husband! He really is talented and put a lot of effort into what he does. Having a garden is a great family event when it's this size!

Interesting, garden plots are not common in my neck of the woods (people just have them in their backyard).  Also, I haven't seen an enclosed garden (shaded).  Thanks for sharing the pics, everything is looking great.  Hope you enjoy the fruits of your husband's labor.

Thank you Valerie, I'll check his schedule! Ha-ha!

Thanks Rob, We enclosed our garden because we livein a rural area and it prevents animals from coming in. The strawberries are already coming on and we should have a plentiful supply of vegetables thoughout the summer.

Wanda,

In addition to my garden, I bought some upside down tomato planters "as advertised on TV". I'll let you know how that works out.

Wanda, I sometimes think my ancestors were the gardeners for the people from the lost colony! I love gardening....one of these days I'll actually grow something substantial.

Wanda, very impressive, you are going to be able to have your very own farmers market. Be sure and take some pics of the garden in full bloom. Great shots....

Me too Dawn!

Terry, We have a couple hanging from the trellis, not sure they will work. Please do let us know how yours fares!

Thanks Amy, It generally takes several weeks from start to finish. And then filling it in as they ripen.

David, It feels good to take care of something and then reap the rewards. The best to you!

Thanks Gerry, My husband did a fantastic job of putting it all together and I will take more pics as everything starts to take off.

WOW! I thought I planted a lot, but not even close.  I did over do it on the tomato plants though and planted 20.  Salsa Anyone?
