positive attitude for the weary soul: Reflecting on 2023 With A 2024 New View - 12/31/23 11:17 AM
Reflecting on 2023 With A 2024 New View
Our lives, at times, are adversely affected by events outside the scope of control, whether it's the loss of loved ones, break ups, divorce, compromised health or loss of business.
How that is dealt with, determines future days.
Trauma can cause complacency, depression, misplaced anger, feelings of despair or even paralysis. Family and friends are ever so important to lean on during these times.
Turn to them for helpful, sage advice. Most are committed to helping you elevate to a higher level of well being because they have similarly visited the dark depths of despair.
On the upside, … (18 comments)

Nerdin Gardens: Hang In There!

My husband creates these beautiful hanging baskets that are sporadically placed around the yard to create a pop of color in places that need it most. They remind me of a loved ones words.

I remember back when my little sister had small cell carcinoma, a fast growing cancer that ravaged her physical body but had yet to destroy that beautiful, positive mind. I'd call and ask how she was feeling and the response most days was, "Oh, I'm hanging in there."

It was an open, honest conversation, intentionally sincere, not just filler for chatting's sake. She didn't want to burden anyone with a litany of complaints, … (10 comments)

Coming, Going or Looking for Direction?

We are several months into the nationwide shutdown. Any prior planning that may have written down at the first of the year has gone to the wayside. It was originally designed to gage my business success for 2020.

Admittedly, sometimes, it feels like I am coming and going at the same time. Within a week, our 6-year old Gbaby boy Ruger and his mom moved to Vegas, sweet 2-year old Kenslee Mae and her mom and dad moved to Arizona and my stepfather, who I recently connected with again has also moved to another state.

Two days ago, my beloved Uncle Stan passed away. Not because he had the Wuhan … (4 comments)

Striking tectonic rifts shilly-shally.

We've all heard the quote, "Into each life some rain must fall" by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow but sometimes an unexpected, oversaturated deluge may occur while navigating the day.

Learning to cope with unforseen events is pertinent to surviving in business and in life. A negative incident can turn into something postively motivating, encouraging an invaluable learning experience.

Remaining present can also get you through the most trying of times, even when in the throes of a rampaging storm!

Sun Kissed.

Mother Nature leaves a sustaining mark on yet another creation, nourishing the plant's core, ensuring a mature bloom. Without sunlight and adequate water, the plant withers and dies, ending its journey to fruition.

This is similar to us humans. For good health, we must also remember to feed our minds and bodies in order to flourish. Your mind is a garden and your thoughts are seeds. You can grow flowers or you can grow weeds.

Happy Friday all!

Reach higher to inspire and help!

Life often presents unexpected situations that people must endure. Spouses die, people lose jobs, get injured, fall illness to disease; mentally or physically or find themselves divorcing. These are people in my community and in yours, who do not ask for a handout but rather someone to listen and at times and take action if possible.

Social media can be a reliable source for support, love, inspiration and advice for so many:
A dear relative is on the last of days and a loved one needed prayers. The response was overwhelming in a good way. Before she knew it, the prayer warriors came out … (54 comments)

positive attitude for the weary soul: I've got rainbows in my clouds. - 08/04/17 06:29 AM
I've got rainbows in my clouds.

Despite the havoc caused by the electrical storm as it slowly passes through the southern Utah valley, leaving darkness in it's wake, one thing is certain; I've got rainbows in my clouds.

Over 1,600 households are without power due to an interruption in the lines and can only be waited out until it is restored. Sometimes you must seek the light in unsettling times.

This morning, I will be meeting with potential buyers who may decide to build a new home if all the requirements are met on their Wish List. Glad to be right here, right now!

Happy Friday all!

Rainbows in my clouds.

An overcast day brings nature's beauty to the forefront in true form. While readying to rain, the sun sustained through the heavy vapor, creating a most beautiful rainbow arcing down from the heavens.

On any day of the week, there may be rainbows in my clouds but plan to make the most of what is offered! Happy Sunday all!

A Deer, A Doe...

The forest borders where my son and daughter-in-law live in Oak Harbor, Washington. Imagine my surprise, shortly after bringing Kenslee Mae home from the hospital, when this mother and daughter duo stepped outside the perimeter of heavy cover to create a photo opp.

A beautiful sight that left me smiling. Nature often does that!

positive attitude for the weary soul: Tenacity and adapting can get you through it! - 05/26/17 06:54 PM
Tenacity and adapting can get you through it!

Growing up poor wasn't a choice, it was simply circumstances and environment. As a child, I endured bullying by other kids due to being different than them and yearned for the normalcy that other kids experienced.

While physically small, I more than make up for that in tenacity. From a young age, I learned about how important a determined work ethic played in earning a good living.

As a teen, I continuously fought off old, familiar feelings of shame, low self-esteem knowing I wanted a better life. When taking a job, I gave it everything and more. If I delivered auto parts, I was the VERY BEST at that job! When … (24 comments)

positive attitude for the weary soul: It's a beautiful day! - 10/21/16 01:01 AM
It's a beautiful day!

After a very trying week, I felt stormy, carrying around a lot of frustration and negativity, ready to erupt. I even wrote about it and decided to take the post down because it served no real purpose today.

Today, my husband called to say he loves me, our red headed Gbaby will visit this afternoon. The garden is thriving with greenery. Vibrantly hued flowers are in bloom. My clients still appreciate my efforts.

Today is a beautiful day, yesterday is past and has passed, thankfully. Other people's decisions are their own. Can't control it / them. Happy Friday … (12 comments)

Who moved my chee…geez Louise!

This week has been a test of any good nerves I may have left. I rolled my ankle (ouch!) and every single appointment set for this week was delayed, requested for an earlier or at a later time.

Moved up. ^^^

Moved back!

Forward again. >>>

Or cancelled! Right now, after running (ouch) from one appointment to the next, I need to refer back to the book Who Moved My Cheese to get some semblance of balance again.

Whew! Glad to see the end of this week nearing its course. NEXT!

positive attitude for the weary soul: Find your joy and let it be. - 04/24/16 01:21 AM
Find your joy and let it be.
Maintaining a positive attitude can be challenging when unexpected twists and turns create less than acceptable outcomes. Searching out a new direction can elevate a mood and nature does that for me, every time.

So, if you're having a particularly difficult day, find your joy and let it be.

Happy Sunday all!

positive attitude for the weary soul: Are you naturally buoyant? - 03/03/16 10:39 PM
Are you naturally buoyant?

If not, then...
Some mornings, I have to work at finding desired motivation and have even 'faked it until I felt it' in an attempt to pull my spirits and thoughts up to an acceptable level before setting out.

Though it feels contrived at the start, I stand up, stretch, look up and smile to help gain a better frame of mind to do something more positive. It reroutes my attention to a better direction.

Allow positive thoughts to rule your day, I will if you will. Happy Friday all!

positive attitude for the weary soul: Another Home SOLD in Apple Valley, Utah! - 01/21/16 12:19 AM
Another Home SOLD in Apple Valley, Utah!

1441 N Apple Blossom Lane, Apple Valley, UT 84737 - SOLD price $43,000.00

Representing clients in a short sale requires diligence, patience, organization, constant contact with Loss Mitigation, quick response time turnaround from buyers and sellers and cooperation from all sides. It can become very tedious but maintaining a professional stance keeps stress levels to a minimum.

Tammy Houchen and I managed to work through the requirements, meeting every deadline, accomplishing the goal set forth, which was to get the home SOLD. Seller is now able to move forward and the buyers can now create a Home Sweet Home scenario for themselves.

Pay it Forward: It's a Wrap!

Growing up destitute, we awoke to many Christmas mornings without gifts under the tree for the older ones in our family of eight children. An orange, an apple or a few nuts at the bottom of a sock were still appreciated because we knew the true meaning of the season.

There are so many children in communities around the the world who may not have items under the tree. Coins for Kids volunteers collect donations, shop, wrap and deliver the gifts to financial needy families. All this while knowing that children will be filled with sheer joy on Christmas!

positive attitude for the weary soul: House 'Listing' Party on Haunted Hill - 02/10/15 11:39 PM

House 'Listing' Party on Haunted Hill is a modern remake of the 1959 classic American horror film. It is directed by Vincent VanGhoul, written by Casper Deghost and stars eccentric millionaire Ima Rich and his wife Yesheis who have invited five successful real estate agents to their home for a 'Listing' Party.

Whoever manages to stay in the haunted house for 24-hours will earn the multi-million dollar listing plus a $10,000 bonus. All guests are visited by the ghosts of unhappy, dissatisfied clients from the past including relatives, peers and friends.

Sincerity: A mile wide approach.

Sensing that someone may be pretentious or lack genuineness shows in the way of first impressions when meeting and greeting. Smiling through clenched teeth during introductions ensures that a person's trustworthiness will be questioned.

Why in the world would anyone in business aspire to that? Perhaps the delivery could use a different approach but this is definitely not a case of fake it 'till you feel it. Sincerity or the lack of can be felt within a mile wide radius by those on the receiving end.
