Learn Your Lizards- East Phoenix Arizona Valley

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Benjamin Realty LLC

If you live in Arizona, or are planning a visit here, or to relocate then learning about the lizards in the Arizona desert is something you may find of interest. The spectacular Boyce Thompson Arboretum is holding a "Learn Your Lizards" day on Saturday June 12th. You'll get a chance to learn about all types, from the Gila Monsters to the little ones like Western Whiptails and Desert Spiny and more.

And if you miss this event , or lizards are not something that particularly interest you, then you may want to check into the other summer long events that Boyce Thompson has planned for the summer. Visit their website for details about the Learn Your Lizards day and other upcoming events. The Boyce Thompson Arboretum is a treasurer of the East Phoenix Arizona Valley, located just east of Gold Canyon, Arizona.

Good information and I wonder if any of them bite! I posted a blog the other day about Mangos in Florida, I have lived here and should have known they produce a rash if handled incorrectly. So knowing the local uniqueness is very good!

There are so many different types of these critters. For instance who knew you could eat Iguanas, a chef said they taste just like chicken.  Iguanas stew anyone?  I think I will pass.

I just found out you made a comment on my blog "Protect Yourself from Fraud" and I left you a reply. Thanks for visiting.

Hi Bob and Carolin -- My wife went to Arizona State and I remember her saying she found a scopion in her shoe one time when it was left outdoors.  Lucky thing she spotted it before she put it on.

Ewww, I think I'll pass on that Iguana stew, Dee!  But, the varieties are certainly interesting to learn about--just not consume!

What an interesting event, Bob and Carolin.  I have a grand-daughter with a fascination of lizards that seems unexplainable.  She'd love to attend something like that!

Carolin,

I just watched a program on TV about people who keep dangerous pets called "Fatal Attraction."  One man had seven Monitor Lizards in his home, and they killed and devoured him.  Spooky!

Pictures, Bob and Carolin. Pictures..like the one Russel put in his comment! I would have loved to see some of the varieties of lizards out there in AZ. As would all of the boys who would be fascinated by such stuff and would want their dads and/or moms to take them out there to see them...
