A rose by any other name would smell as sweet . . .

Day lily that smells like a rose

. . . as this daylily does! It has the most wonderful fragrance, just like that of a delicate tea rose.

I am so thrilled with my daylilies this year. My husband bought me an assortment of sizes and colors, and I planted them in groups of five in several places in our garden. Others I planted in the past didn't do very well, but I did some research and planted the scapes in areas with some afternoon shade to protect them from the South Texas heat. This plant started blooming last week. I especially like flowers in shades of apricot and peach, and this one has a beautiful blend of those colors.

That's beautiful, Robin!  I think I'd like to get some more day lillies.  I have only orange ones, but they always do so well -- I think it's time to branch out to some other variations.

I love coffee & real estate. I am out of coffee!

Beautiful photo and congrats on figuring out how to get them to beat the TX heat! That color is also one of my favorites and I think it accents or softens the richness of a red brick home particularly nicely.

Robin:

This is a lovely close-up of a very fragrant an beautiful flower. You must be watering often in the Texas heat.

Wow, thanks for stopping by, everybody! And thanks to Robert and the ActiveRain gods for featuring my post!

I guess I should post photos of daylilies every day now until they're all gone! :)

Thanks, Debra! It was featured by Robert Vegas Bob, and on the first page of the blog posts for the day, but not actually featured by AR. At least, I didn't receive any feature points, but I'll take what I can get!
