I'm embarrassed to admit this, but the way I used to process my photos was to upload them to Picnik, crop or resize them, add text to give them a watermark (or just skip that step since it was really too much trouble), then download them back into the right folder.
I was pretty sure there had to be an easier way so I went looking and found VSO Image Resizer. It's one of my new favorite tools now. Not only can you resize, you can also add an uber customizable watermark, & save the photo to a pre-determined location. All this in a batch or as an individual image. And if you have a certain size and process that you use often, you can save that as a pre-set profile.
Did I mention that it's free? Especially since I've been working on Chattanooga Exposed, it's been a huge time saver to be able to take all the photos that I'm thinking about using, putting them through VSO IR and saving copies to a special folder. When I want to post one, I just go to that folder, pick it out bada boom, bada bing, done & done. And since it's a program you install on your computer, there's no more of this waiting-to-upload-or-download-big-files stuff (my one criticism of Picnik).
One caveat: You don't get a preview of what the finished product is going to be. Always use the "Create Copies" option so that you don't overwrite an image with something you don't want!
