Deer in Giverny, Cary NC!

Yes.  We have deer in Giverny.  This one happened to be a large doe.  I popped home to get a folder, and saw her as I was driving back out.

She was a large doe, made me wonder if she is carrying a fawn, although it seems late in the year for that.  I caught her with the phone in my new Evo.  (Side note:  Uploading photos to Flickr from the Evo is just fantastic!  I might need a tripod for my phone.)

After the last shot, she started through the trees, to cross the street in front of me.  I moved the phone, and that moved the shutter button on the touch screen.  And by the time I located the shutter button, I got a photo of an empty street.

Giverny is a neighborhood of typical 1990's tract lots.  Starting at about 1/4 acre, with about 1/3 acre average, they run as large as .7 acres.

But, the wooded areas around the neighborhood offer cover and habitat for deer, and every now and then we are lucky enough to spot one.  That was yesterday for me.

Nat, I have played bumper cars with a couple. They lose, unfortunately.

Those are some really great photos for a camera phone. We never see anything like that in my neck of the woods. Turtles, armadillos, and all kinds of other stuff but not many deer.

Nathan,

Thanks!  I am pretty impressed with the camera in the phone.  It is big enough that I can hold it firmly.  I mean, the Evo is huge!

We have plenty of turtles here, but an armadillo?  That would be photo-worthy around here, for sure.

Hi Mike, lots of squirrels and rabbits in Haddon Hall, an occasional deer.  Thanks for posting.

Mike- great pictures for a camera phone, and that you could get them that quickly was amazing.  I was setting up for an Open House out in Holly Springs a couple of weeks ago and a very tiny fawn ran out from the hedges by the front door.  I wasn't quick enough with my phone to get the pix, and no mama deer around either.

Dale,

Squirrels and rabbits seem to be everywhere, don't they?

Linda,

I didn't do much with the phone and Flickr, and then I downloaded a Flickr uploader.  My regular cameras take better photos, but the convenience with the phone is tremendous.
