Frying Pan Park: Farm animals and more minutes from Herndon and Reston!

I am safe at Thanksgiving!

Kidwell Farm at Frying Pan Park welcomes spring

If  you need a quick children's outing near Herndon and Reston, go see some friendly farm animals at Frying Pan Park's Kidwell Farm.

Located off West Ox road near its intersection with Centreville road, the farm is just outside of Herndon on the Chantilly side.

Welcome home to Frying Pan Park

Our young adult children  still stop in to check on the baby animals and relive their childhood memories from years of visits.

Below is a photo tour web site of Kidwell Farm that I took over a number of visits.

Within the site, try the Photo Gallery....it works better for this type of photo than the Virtual tour.

There is appropriate musical accompaniment so make sure your sound is not too loud
:-)

You cannot beat a nice cow. Too bad you cannot house train them.

Hi Steve, you know...I'd really like to know how "Frying Pan Park" got it's name.

Looks like a great place to take the kids...kind of like a petting zoo?

Nick, It operatesas a restored operating little farm...althugh you can pet the animas if the animals themselves feel like letting you. The caretaker milks the cows by hand (and you can too) collects the eggs, bales hay plants stuff and explains it. I wil investigate the name "frying pan" a quick search didn't provide much.

Bill, thanks...I am trying to build a base of communityt and activity posts where folks can go for info.
