HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
One of the greatest gifts God gives in this lifetime is Friendship!!! THe best Friendships evolve from mutual respect and concern. Often our best friends come from unexpected places and circumstances. I am a better REALTOR®, a better man, a better person because this date includes the birthday of one very special lady. She's not my wife, she's not my sister, and not a childhood friend; but she is probably my longest continual friendship. In the beginning, I probably thought we had little in common; but now I am hard pressed to think of anything important that I do not share with this friend.
The real estate industry forces us to band together to accomplish our goals: we learn to depend on others doing their jobs, even in difficult and trying situations. Over twenty-five years as a mortgage loan officer, and the first loan processor to put up with me, to teach me most of what I learned about the business, and to teach me the sacrifice demanded by the industry REMAINS the key to my success--even as a REALTOR®.
This birthday girl, this dear friend endured horrible migrane headaches, long hours, and often un-appreciative home buyers and realty agents while applying her exceptional skills to make deals work. My family is indebted to her for many a commission check in those days when I could hardly spell mortgage--much less understand the business.
Each of us owes a special debt of gratitude to some dear soul that set aside personal issues to help make our lives better. For me, it was a mortgage loan processor who became the best underwriter I ever worked with. In an earlier blog, I said there were some people that made my life better--Today belong to one of them.
DOROTHY MACKIN, YOU ARE THE GREATEST!!! I WISH YOU THE HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYS, and wish I had a larger audience to tell the real estate industry in Nashville, Tennessee that TODAY IS YOUR BIRTHDAY.
