I inspected a home last week and the inspection didn't include the dock. But while inspecting the grounds, and the back portion of the home I couldn't help but notice the dock. I've inspected some rickety docks and also some awesome huge cabana docks almost house size,... but this poor dock is more the rickety variety. It just plain gave up and decided to take a dive!
Jay, That poor dock looks like it had better day. We lived in North Carolina for a few years and backed to a little lake. Our first experience with a dock was our dog falling throught he hole and good that my husband was there as he was trying to swim the wrong way.
Jay,
I've seen one or two that bit the dust so to speak into the water. Be it wind, storm, or current... sure hope they don't leave it in the water.
Jay, at least it doesn't appear to be that bad of a fix. I'll be much more wary now after seeing that pic. Thanks.
Well, I hope they get that fixed (we don't want accidents). Doesn't look that bad..I've seen worse.
Hi Carla, I was hired to do an insurance inspection....fortunately no dock inspection needed.
Hi Wil and Kevin, Looks worse in person, but could be fixed, although by the look of the house, I think it'd be waay down the "to do" list.
Hi Judi, the owners have bigger problems in the house. I don't think they were worried too much about the dock.
Hi Marchel, what a terrible experience that would have been if your husband hadn't been there to rescue your dog. I bet he didn't get too close to the dock after that experience.
