Never Can Say Goodbye...

Riverpark in Oxnard, CAAt  one point or another in our career's I'm fairly certain we've become attached to a client because of the special bond that's created in reaching the common goal of a positive outcome for our client.

I tend to get a bit sappy at the end of escrow when it's time to say "goodbye", but always hope that the client will somehow keep in touch to tell me how they're doing...maybe they'll even remember me when they are ready to move again or will refer me to a friend or a relative. (The highest compliment.)

I've been working with a short sale seller who really made the difference in getting my job done with the best positive results considering the situation. Everyone should have such a client! She was so well organized and had documents ready for me at a moments notice. Each time Chase said "jump" she was positive in her reply of "how high?"

I had multiple offers on her home in a development called Riverpark in Oxnard, California. We had sliding prices as we went through the short sale process that threatened to squash our deal if Chase didn't react to our all cash offer.

I'll be closing her escrow on Friday afternoon. I'm a bit melancholy, but I'll let go...after I deliver doughnuts to her on moving day...

I'm SO HAPPY to hear I'm not the only one - I always say it's like having a baby and then raising it and letting him/her go - all in a few months -   I think it's a good thing - We certainly keep our clients' best interest as our primary objective!

In May I assisted a couple into a loft in downtown Denver, and were just a joy to work with.   It had some bumps along the way with the property, and the buyers were still so upbeat, fun to work with and patient.    I still keep in touch, as they were doing some remodeling, and they plan to invite me to dinner when the kitchen remodel is complete.    There are clients you feel very close to after the transaction is complete!

See? There you have it...sometimes as human beings we simply feel and allow ourselves (in spite of the attempt to remain "professional") to live the experience with our buyers and sellers. And why not? Enjoy the ride...
