Skyranch is a lovely subdivision that blends into the desert vista located in Northwest Tucson. It's just a little bit west of Oro Valley, southeast of Dove Mountain. To find Skyranch, take Tangerine from Thornydale and go west. Travel south on Camino De Manana and you'll see the signs. You can also find Skyranch by traveling west on Tangerine from Oracle, La Canada, or La Cholla Blvd. Just remember to turn south on Camino De Manana, just west of Thornydale.
This private community nestles within over 500 acres of natural desert preserve. The tranquility of the area, combined with stunning vistas and backdrops, serve to provide homeowners with a singular living experience.

Because of its location, access to I-10 is easy, just another ten minutes west along Tangerine. There are also multiple shopping areas within minutes, with restaurants and other facilities available.
During my drive through in Mid August, I noticed quite a bit of new construction taking place. There are still dozens of sites available in the community. Don't forget in visiting a model home, or new home site, to bring your Buyer's Agent with you. You want an experienced agent on your side when working with the builder rep.

As you can see by my photos, Skyranch is a gated subdivision and each "neighborhood" has its own character.
At its inception, the master plan of Skyranch aimed to be as environmental conscious as could be. The developer, Scott Stiteler, owner of Stellar Homes, voluntarily incorporated the US Fish and Wildlife guidelines in their plans. The original plans included 365 homes, leaving 80% of the original acreage undisturbed.
Of the original 365 lots, Stiteler kept 130 lots to build homes in 50/50 partnership with James Gray and formed Stellar Gray Homes. 70 lots were sold to Cutshaw Yeager for their Sanctuary at Skyranch community and 166 lots were sold to Pathway Developments for two communities—Fountain Estates and Fountains at Skyranch.
The Adobes and The Bungalows at Skyranch were designed to be an extension of their natural surroundings. Notice the brick walls, mud adobe, naturally rusting roofs, copper garage doors and how nicely they blend into the surrounding landscape.
The builders utilized low water landscaping, with imported specimen mesquite, palo verde, and ironwood trees.
I believe the details help make Skyranch a cut from a different cloth.
The entire community is served by the Marana School District, with Ironwood Elementary, Tortolita Middle School and Mountain View High School.
