What's this about blogging being dead?

By
Real Estate Agent with Jameson Sotheby's International Realty

I go away for a couple of days of R&R, with the mum, and I return to Active Rain, only to learn, according to several well-written, well-thought-out, highly commented posts, that blogging has died in my absence? (I knew I shouldn't have gone out of town!)

What the fudge?

C'mon, it just got started... well, at least I just got into it.  It can't have died before I've had a chance to be a giant pain in the patootie!

Why, heck... I don't even think it's on life support, let alone dead.  Blogging is still in it's infancy.  Good content will always be good content, and people will beat a path to your door if you provide it.  That's my belief, and I'm sticking to it.

Now, I don't know how to provide "good content"... but I know a few people around here at Active Rain that do, and I'm gonna keep plagiarising copying learning from them, until I do.

So there!   Pthhhhp!

Well, don't leave again.  We attended the funeral while you were gone.  And, you were supposed to be one of the pallbearers.  See what happens when you are not on guard?  Dead and buried.  (Somehow, I still have a mirror to see if there might be a breath left.)

Very good response Alan.  I too am just getting started and believe that good, solid content will always have an audience.  Now I just need to come up with some good, solid content.

Alan, I to think that blogging is in its infancy.  I think all the flap was about blogging listings----but I can't even agree with that.

Alan, no worries there is more than a pulse...blogging is alive and well. They are trying to fake us out so we go away...don't fall for this obvious ploy.

Keep the faith, Alan...there's a few real estate blogs that I wish would die, but yours is certainly not one of them.

Thank God you're back Alan. I don't know how ActiveRain and blogging in general would have survived had you been away any longer!

I've also heard that God is dead. Some people are in need of a hug.

Maybe blogging is living in hiding with Elvis in Vegas?  Or maybe Jack-o the monkey stole it and put it in his monkey butt pants...

Alan:

Were you away?  I have been away myself (tennis injury and numerous Vicodins.)

I think what was said was that that the real estate blog, in its purest and most perfect form, has been killed. But I don't really think we have to worry, as long as we do not mind being imperfect - and impure.

Blogging is a wet fart at this point.  While the nature of the title of the post and subsequent posts are 'made for inevitable commentary' ... in my opinion it was trying too hard to be prophetic.  The shit hasn't been taken and the toilet hasn't been flushed.  Give it another five years or so.

It better not be dead!  I'm just getting started too!  I'm enjoying myself.  Doesn't it always work that way though?  When you like something they make something new and improved?  (Always happens to me with shampoo!)  Enjoy what's left of the holiday weekend!
