Wordless Wednesday: Rock Creek After a Rain

By
Real Estate Agent with RLAH@properties AB95346

Rock Creek runs from someplace in Gaithersburg, down through Rockville, Kensington, Chevy Chase, then it intersects the District, meeting the Potomac in Georgetown.

This waterfall is is one of the things that makes Rock Creek fun to photograph, and it's usually pretty tame.  The falls is right at Pierce Mill, near the intersection of Beach Drive and Tildon Street.  Normally you can see the creek bed, but not on the day when I took this shot.

After a big rain, this is not a great place to show up with your kayak!

Oh man!  I miss Rock Creek Park!  We are coming up this weekend for the Roger Waters concert so perhaps we will get to take a stroll through the park!

Pat--before a big rain, this isn't a place to show up with your kayak, either!  No, but seriously, these are beautiful pictures.  I love the creek.  For years, when my kids were in pre-school, I drove by the little waterfall twice a day, and it ws great to see how its surroundings change all the time--with the weather, the seasons, the light.

That's funny, 'cause I was going to say "looks like a great place to go kayaking!" lol We used to like walking through Rock Creek Park when we lived down there. Hope there was no flooding with this amount of rain.

Pat - I love Rock Creek park, whether driving through or walking. I bet there are some kayakers who would LOVE Rock Creek like this. Not me.

I don't believe I've ever seen Rock Creek after a rain.  It sounds a bit treacherous.

That looks more like a river than a creek!  Must have had a ton of rain.

Howdy and evening to you Patricia

Patricia, I sure did enjoy looking at those photos of yours. I like canoing in waters like that.

Have a good one
