iPhone Coming to Verizon...
For years, many of us Verizon customers have been lusting over the iPhone, but alas, the infamous 3 letters have kept many of us from owning one. Well, it seems as if the cellular gods have heard our plight and have answered our prayers. ATT's contractual lock on the iPhone is finally over. Apple and Verizon have finally come to terms and the iPhone will be available January 1. You can read the story "Apple Readies Verizon iPhone".
The Droid seemed to be Motorola's answer to the iPhone and has certainly bitten a huge chunk out of Apple's dominance in the smart phone market. But problems with the OS and other glitches have left many of us Droid users underwhelmed with the product.
Will this match made in heaven keep Apple and Verizon on top as the cell phone wars rage on? What about ATT? Will folks drop them like a hot potato and migrate over? We'll have to wait and see...

Helping YOU Help Others Live THEIR American Dream
Dorie, I have heard nothing but great things about the iPhone. AT&T's service is something you either swear at or swear by...
Cindy. I have too...
Great news! Although I still have an old flip phone! But, I know people who couldn't use or wouldn't use AT&T because of the (lack of) service. Let the games begin!
Competition will help all of the smart phones get better and better. I love our Droid. It has plenty of apps for me. Have the HTC 4g with Sprint.
Mike,
It all depends on where you live. I've been a very happy iPhone user on AT&T for many years...without problems.
Rich
Good news for Verizon customers and for those who just don't want to sign on with AT&T. Let me know when you hear about the iPhone coming to T-Mobile!
Rich, there are pockets were AT&T does well. Because TN is so remote, you get 2 miles off the interstate and there goes your coverage...
Dick & Dixie, I have a love/hate relationship with my Droid. I'm either swearing at it or by it...
Ron, The lack of coverage was the main reason that I dropped them when they were Cingular Wireless. Too many dropped calls ever here in the city...
Craig, You're such a jokester. They might, when I turn blue. Oh, I am blue...
Hi Michael, I am still not convinced that this isn't another rumor. When quoting the WSJ's sources, "these people said..." does not get me excited about the veracity of a possible verizon deal. I have read this before many times over the last two years from other credible sources as well and they have yet to pan out.
Now if Gizmodo reports it...perhaps I will believe it.
Good morning Michael; any phone is only as good as the provider can make the call go through. I have a great phone, but don't get some calls for an unknown reason. So what good is the phone?
Michael if your the Jeanie in the lamp why don't you tell us what will be out NEXT week ( thats how fast technology changes) and we'll all get one then lol
I miss the tin cans and string
Enjoy the day
I still love my blackberry and cant see giving it up! Some folks from my office have both, and have reverted back to BBs too...But, I do love the features of an I phone...
Hi Michael, this is good news. As an underwhelmed droid user and a former frustrated AT&T customer, I will be glad to have the option available.
They're all a little confusing to me as to the difference.. I have been thrilled with my HTC Touch Pro...
Very interesting news I had not heard this Michael..I too have the HTC Touch but the original I hear the pro is pretty awesome ..I have T-mobile and happy with their service ..never drop calls ..so unless they get the Iphone I will stick with the droid
Hannah
In California we used Verizon and the service was horrible. Then we moved to Texas (6 years ago) and we had too many dead zones, so we switched to ATT. Unfortunately, since I have had the iphone, the service with ATT has gotten worse. Too many dropped calls, but I love the iphone applications... so Im torn. I wonder how it will work with Verizon...
Michael,
What you can't do with an Iphone is to add custom roms and many other things, Iphone is really neat for multimedia in my opinion but that's it, it does not have the power of freedom, I own a samsung vibrant series Galaxy S and this phone super fly ! I added a custom rom a week ago of course I rooted with just a single click :) and you can do miracles. If you know a little bit more of android you can do many wonderful things that with an iphone you can't depends how experienced and savvy you are with these phones :) I know that for Droid 2, Droid X and Droid there are many bells and whistles available out there, but you need to know about it
I don't have anything against Iphone, but it seems more like a toy for me compared to an android.
I dont know a whole lot about the iPhone, but I love my droid and I probably only know how to do a small fraction of what it is capable of.
I am still on the Droid with Verizon but there is a good chance I will switch :)
your friend in Charlottesville
I was wondering what kind of problems you had with your Droid that you think iPhone will resolve? Yes iPhone produces best pictures from all the phones but thats more of work of HDR software that processes images.
