A hidden Gem in Littleton

I am an avid reader and love to visit the big box bookstores and libraries, but when I have some time on my hands and want to browse millions of books I like to visit ABBS VOL 1 at 6905 S Broadway, Littleton, CO 80122. This bookstore is in the corner of an older shopping center and has the simple sign on the storefront that says BOOKS. If you are at all claustrophobic this may not be the place for you. Corridors of books and shelves line the two storefronts that are filled with books of all types, I have found original versions of books written in the early 1900s.

I stumbled across this book store a few years ago when one of my sons needed a book for school, the big box bookstores were sold out, because everyone in the class needed to read this book also. I called the store after finding them in the yellow pages and asked if they had the book. The owner, an older gentleman said "I have 3 copies and I can set one aside for you". I ran right over expecting to pay a premium price, it only cost $1.99, compared to $12.99 for the other stores. When I walked in the place smelled of smoke, the owner had his back to the door and was at a computer, he did not acknowledge that I had even entered the store. I was floored bythe sheer volume of books in the store and how seemingly unorganized the place was,  I told him I had just called looking for a book he turned around and smiled and held out the copy. As we started talking I realized he knew every single book in the store and exactly where they were and how many copies he had of each. Amazing! There are literally several hundred thousand books in this place and he will gladly point you to each and everyone of them.

Reading is a great way to pass time. Benefit yourself also.

I like Barnes and Noble online, used books around $2-$4 as well.

Great haircut as well John.

Good luck & success to you!

Love the haircut and B & N online, also love Amazon, Borders and in Denver we have The Tattered Cover, but this little store has about 3000 sq feet and probably twice as many books as any of those stores carry in their 30,000 sq ft stores, it is really amazing and I can pick it up within 5 minutes instead of waiting for delivery.

I love bookstores and libraries, I am just so amazed by the volume of books in this store for how small it is
