Mom Loon Feeding Baby Loon
This is a mother loon and her baby, preparing for the winter. We just happened upon them as we were enjoying the fall colors at Lake Winnipesaukee today. We spent quite some time enjoying their feeding and interaction in the lake. Watch and listen carefully - my friend has a ton of information, but she is whispering!

Wow! That was so cool! I thought they were ate or something (jk!!) then suddenly they showed up on the other side of the boat! hahaha! FUNNY! I love this kind of thing!

Dagny, That was very cool! I have to say though I enjoyed the fall colors about as much as the loon. Our leaves won't fall until December and when they do fall they just turn brown and fall off; no pretty color!
This is so cool. What a peaceful and beautiful site. The fall folliage is perfect and I love the way it reflects on the water. Can anyone say "On Golden Pond?"
Joni - my friends have been talking about the loons for years, and this was my first time close up...

Ralph - Yes, that was me mixed in with about 3 others speaking....
Ray - No phone, just my HD Flip, which doesn't have as crisp a focus when you zoom in for some reason....
Kathy - I'll bet your colors are peaking now further up!
Marcel - This is the thing that keeps New Englanders around to tolerate there harsher winters, I guess ....
Debbie - I did feel "on Golden Pond" when I was filming it...
Joshua and Mykel - It was very neat to carch them so close to the boat, too!
Dagny - peaked and almost gone ..... the trees are almost bare ..... I took some the other day in our back yard and today the leaves are nearly all gone.
PS I just looked out the window and saw a few flakes of snow falling
Kathy - OH NO!!!! I'm not mentally ready for the snow!! I am still getting ready for summer......
