The Heart and Soul of UW Madison-that is what the banners on the Terrace say and who is to argue? Even with the concerts over, students, professors, families and their dogs still gather for conversation or just hangin' out. Walks, runs and bike rides to Picnic Point are an enjoyable side trip, and you can still take out a boat if you are a Hoofer or watch the big crane lift their larger top-heavy sailboats out of Lake Mendota and transport them to their winter cradles. You can always warm up for a fireside breakfast in the Rathskellar if it gets too cold. Enjoy lectures, films, gallery shows, or wait in line for famous Bascom Hall ice cream, too.
