San Diego will be getting new parking meters soon, which will accept credit cards and help with less parking tickets being issue.
These new meters will be curtesy of IPS group a San Diego based company that will convert the present parking meters to solar.
These new parking meters will give the person using the parking space a choice to either pay cash or credit. No longer looking for that pesky change, or having to hurry back to put more coins in.
Rates are not expected to go up. Replacement cost is estimated to be approximately $500 each. Solar cells, are expected to last about three years before replacements are schedule.
Los Angeles is celebrating installing 10,000 parking meters.
