Agent Scoreboard............. Know any thing about it???

By
Real Estate Agent with Evergreen Realty & Associates Inc.

I have been invited to put a real estate profile on Agent Scoreboard, I checked it out and it seems harmless and they are saying that it is free.  I am always skeptical when someone says free and I am concerned about any potential negatives.

http://www.agentscoreboard.com/

They say that my profile on their site will have outbound links to both my website and Active Rain profile so if they do manage to get some decent search engine juice it could help with Google juice.  So I am tossing this out there to all of you who are better at this than I.

Thanks for your feedback.

Hi Darrel - Wish I could be of help to you here, but they are not currently in Connecticut. If I were you I would search the site for current agents in CA. See if you know any and give them a call. Like you, I'm very wary of this types of sites.

Hi Darrel,

This is Michael Agee from Agent Scoreboard...

Here are a couple of agents you might want to ask.

Gena Riede - http://activerain.com/griede

Roberta Murphy - http://activerain.com/therealview  She actually has a blog post about us.  http://activerain.com/blogsview/193554/Agent-Scoreboard-A-Helpful

Nicola Dubois http://www.agentscoreboard.com/agent/1271827_Nicola_DuBois_All_Seasons_Premier_Realty_GMAC

Lee Sterling http://www.agentscoreboard.com/agent/90047_Lee_Sterling_Help-U-Sell_Realty_West

We did a quiet launch, at the end of August and we've already had over 300 California agents sign up.  We are going to begin some webinars latter this month to show agents how better to use our system.

If you have any other question, feel free to email me mike@agentscoreboard.com.

Sandra, Thanks for stopping in and taking the time to comment.  It is appreciated.

Mike, Thanks, I know you are new and I do have some concerns about potential negative ramifications.  I just like to be sure before jumping into something new.

It is good that you have concerns and it is equally good that Agent Scoreboard responded to your concerns.  We all are blitzed with requests to be in or on "the hottest directory or site" on the internet.  It is wise to be cautious and not waste money, because eventually there is a price to pay.

Darrel,

I invite you to come and poke around Agent Scoreboard and get more familiar with its tools.  Because the truth is that anyone can go to Google, Yahoo, Yelp, Insider Pages, or several other directory sites and leave anonymous feedback about you.  There isn't much you can do about it once its there.

I came from the real estate industry and I was once a practicing agent.  I know how important reputation is, and I could see the "review flood" coming.  With Agent Scoreboard you can request feedback right from the system on every transaction, so your potential clients have a more accurate picture of your level customer service.  Everyone has a bad transaction, but it should be the one that your potential client finds on yahoo and google.

Feedback isn't coming... it's here.  Consumers are blogging, reviewing and rating their agents right now.

I'm not trying to sound preachy, but some agents took advantage of blogging when it was small and look at them now, they are rock stars.  Agents who take advantage of feedback and how it can help them build their business will be the next rock stars!

Thanks for bringing this topic up, Darrel.  If you should want to ask me any other question or have any comment, I'd be gald to help!  mike@agentscoreboard.com

Mike I have poked around and I haven't seen anything much to sway me in either direction.  I think I will wait and see how this develops.

Darrel,

You should at least claim your free account, and take a look at the back end tools.  If you don't like it you can, with one click, hide your account from the public.

Click on the link and then click on "Claim me" it will send you an email.

Again thanks for discussing this on your blog.

Mike you are welcome, I have just been waiting before making a decision.  I think it is harmless but still not convinced it is good either.

Darrel, I believe that this site is run with some level headed people who I met recently at an Inman Conference. They seem to have safeguards in place and appear to be responsible. There are places that you should avoid at all costs and that would be a place called yelp.

Gena, Thanks for your comment, it is nice to hear some feed back from someone with some experience.  I know they are new and after some of my past mistakes with companies I din't know I am trying to be careful.

Darrel - I'm with you...Free always seems to come at a price. I will look into it also, but will keep an arms length away until I have talked to some of those other agents.

Darrel, I signed up it seems inocent enough. They don'g have any page rankings yet so if they succeed it will help my google ranking. If not, Still can not hurt as you need to be in as many places as you can on the net anyway. It couldn't hurt.....

Maybe the Agent Scoreboard Guy will chime in after this post to clrify where they are now in the rankings and where they expect to be in the near future. For a further explanation read some of the articles in the Group:  Search Engine Optimization: An Hour a Day

Hi all.

Thanks for all the discussion on the topic.  I'm not quite sure, specifically, why some are hesitant.

I can understand that you think "free" comes with a price.  In fact it does, we don't sell agent scoreboard to agent, what we sell is advertising to companies that want to put their offers in front of the post-close consumer.  Think of it as "welcome wagon" meets "survey monkey", in fact our advertising actually acts as an incentive for your clients to complete the survey.   Your clients receive discounts and incentives from local retailers, you receive public feedback, and your potential clients get a better understanding of your reputation.

Sure there are drawbacks, if you are a terrible agent and you receive negative feedback all the time, you probably wouldn't want to use the system.  However, if your good and you know it, we have build safeguards into the system to prevent unsolicited attacks.  Our feedback is either solicited (meaning you asked your client for feedback) or unsolicited (it came in randomly thru the site) if it is the latter, there is a cooling off period, and a dispute process if you have no knowledge of the person or transaction they are reviewing you on.

Agent Scoreboard isn't perfect, but it does allow great agents to differentiate themselves from the run-of-the-mill ones.  Those agents should see much more traffic and more leads from generating positive feedback.

As for google juice, google crawls us frequently, adding a complete bio, an rss feed to your blog on your Agent Scoreboard profile can help you get your page rank up.

I guess my point is that feedback and "user-generated content" is a reality of today's online environment, what you want to do is to have more positive feedback than negative if someone googles your name.  The only way to do that is to actively cultivate that feedback.

Email or call me if you have questions or comments, I love to talk to great agents!!  mike@agentscoreboard.com M: 909-576-7492
