Curiosity killed the cat, but the dog is safe!

The Francis Family enjoyed a fabulous vacation on Manasota Key, FL (Just south of Sarasota/Venice) on the west coast of Florida.  It was incredible in the enjoyment we all took out of the amazing peaceful surroundings.  The kids absolutely loved it, the beach, fishing, boating, and surfing. But no one had a better time than our 2 1/2 year old Shih Zsu, Ginger.  I wish she could talk so we could find out what she was thinking!

Ginger exploring the beach - Manasota Key, FLGinger just loved the beach!  Here she is the first day!

Along the way she watched the kids fish and was very perplexed about seeing the fish get hauled in from the ocean.

Ginger - boating in Lemon Bay - Manasota Key FLBoating was a huge hit, even better than sticking her head out the window of the car – another all time favorite.

But, Tripod, the turtle, stole the show for her!  Tripod is a seasoned turtle with a missing front arm.  Tripod gets around great and was exceptionally patient as Ginger tried to make a new friend with her and figure out what Tripod was?

My doggie certainly loves to investigate as well. I'm not sure how she would do with a turtle though.

Michelle, my dog is much like yours. A turtle is just another interesting smell. Tessa, on seeing her first large turtle didn't seem too interested after a couple of minutes. The turtle didn't seem to mind all that sniffing around and slowly marched onward.

We have several "dog beaches" that become our destination from time to time.  My golden never complains about the temprature, the overcast skies and unfortuneately the distance to the bathrooms.

The nuber one rated dog beach in the country is in the St. Peterburg area at Ft. Desota Park.  It is worth the drive that is why we make it.

My "kids" and I took a nice LONG AM T-day walk and they got to run across fields and check out the neighbors' horses....they would L♥VE to go to the beach and SWIM!

Vickie, Ginger became obsessed with the turtle!

Ted, The fish were a non-event, the turtle, she is still thinking about!

Rick, Yeah, it was so nice that Ginger could go to the beach!!!!  She was just thrilled to wander around there and chase the birds.

Wallace, I can only imagine Ginger's response on seeing horses?

All the best, Michelle

Michelle....It looks like Ginger had a great time!  Family time at the beach is really hard to beat.  We live along way from the beach so when we go it is certainly special.

Carra,

So true, everyone truly had a blast and there was almost no electronics involved in this FUN!  Life is good, but the beach really helps one kick back and enjoy life.

All the best, Michelle

I'm glad Ginger made friends while at the beach and I'm with her that there is nothing like the wind in your hair on a boat.

Todd,

For me it's a convertible ride.  I still have my old car from before kids!!!  We don't get boating that often here!

All the best, Michelle
