DO YOU PUT THE PERSON IN YOUR BLOGGING PERSONALITY?
How do you make a statement? People tell me that I shouldn't blog about politics. That I should always be nice and positive. Let me say this. I'm not one who's out looking for controversy, but I did receive my SEVENTY SECOND (YES 72nd) referral off of Active Rain this past Friday.
While I'm not politically correct (In fact I hate politically correct wimpy language), I'm not looking to get into fights with folks either. But, something has been working for me.
Here's the 101 to my Success in Active Rain:
-
I try to be honest with my posts - If I'm pissed at candidate A or I hate the new federal law, then I'm saying it. I'm not dancing around the issues. People who have the same values as me will bond with me and those who dont.....well....I probably don't want to work with anyway. I have a lot of folks who feel differently than me that I get along with just swimmingly. But they understand me, and even though they don't think my way (which is always right), I get them and like them. If they don't get me, then screw em!

I hate when people push listings or just "low rates." C'mon now. That's part of the gig, but hey, let's educate folks. When we add value to others, that's all that matters. If one person gleans a good piece of info then I've done my job.

I throw in some family stuff too. I will throw in stuff about my family. Mostly pictures, but some stories as well. It helps others get to know me, how whacked I am, and a bit about my personality.

One out of every 5 posts I want to be HARD CORE REAL ESTATE EDUCATION. Maybe 2 out of EVERY 5. I hate the hard sales. I think when you educate people with truths, you are selling...but you're selling to their heart. You're selling by serving them.
I got another call from someone last week on how I do so well in Active Rain. I told them that I'd post this. It's not a gimmick.
It's a serious part of my business plan.
What's wierd is that I just so happen to enjoy it!
