I took this photo last weekend in Lovettsville, Virginia. It was from the deck of a house I sold a few months ago, and it was nothing like what I see from the decks of homes that I sell in DC. And you know? I could live here!

I never saw a thistle....and yes what a great shot...I could live there too....painting and reading books on the deck all day.
The composition of that photo is something that should be painted and hang on a wall in a gallery. Just gorgeous!

And I am a Scot - MacGregor and Wallace - so thistles are a part of my psyche...
I love thistles. I have two vases of them on my mantle. They thrive in this area and last forever when collected for interior feature.

I think I recognize that barn! I'm from VA, my Dad grew up in Leesburg, just down the road a piece from Lovettsville! Back when it was a "burg" and not the city it is today!
