SAMCO Exxon in Riverside, Texas
There are several businesses here in Riverside that I just love to go to because of the people that work there. Today I want to tell you about the SAMCO Exxon station at the corner of FM 980 and State Highway 19.
I buy almost all of my gas there because the owner (Amet) gives back to the community. He is always helping out the Lions Club with our projects as well as the Chamber of Commerce. Many times they have allowed us to put up signs for fundraisers and other events and they have even allowed us to set up tables out front to sell raffle tickets, etc.
The employees recognize me when I am at the gas pump and turn it on WITHOUT the credit card... (they know that I am going to come in and purchase some other items along with the gas).
Having said all of that.... my #1 favorite reason for going to the SAMCO Exxon station is Kim. Kim is the manager of the Subway Sandwiches and Salads inside the station. She is always happy! Greets everyone with a big smile and makes you feel like she has been waiting for you to come in and make her day. Sometimes when I go in, I will find Kim jamming to some old rock and roll... other times she's outside taking a break and will stop what she's doing to visit with me.
I sort of feel like Norm on Cheers!
"JONI! How are you girl?!" as if she hasn't seen me just the day before! :O) Everyone around her knows Kim and Kim knows everyone!
There is a subway in Huntsville and one in Trinity, but guess where we go (even if we are already in those other towns) for our subway sandwhiches! You got it! We go to the SAMCO Exxon to see Kim! Now, Kim is not always there... but she is the manager and I can tell you that she hires folks just like her to work there! They make a GREAT sandwich served up with warm fuzzies and smiles at no extra charge!!
Thanks, Kim for making everyone feel special, keeping the food fresh and serving up that great smile! We love you!!
