Angelo - if you are interested in some genuine Yankee food (Boston style!) you should make sure to check out The Union Oyster House, Loch Ober and the Hillside Steakhouse (I think it's still there). Make sure you take a camera with you to Faneuil Hall and Haymarket Square. You won't want to miss the Kings Cemetery on Tremont St. It's the oldest around and just a quick skip to the Old North Church.
If you want some of the most incredible Italian food in the world, make your way into the Old North End. The streets are lined with some delightfully authentic bistros.
Make sure you get a peek at Fenway Park, Kenmore Square, The Commons and Back Bay. If you want some incredible photos, sit on the banks of the Charles River at different times of day - the light that reflects and bounces off the skyscrapers makes for a visual buffet.
Enjoy your trip! I'll be going back there in June and can't wait. That's home for me and if it weren't so doggoned expensive I'd move back in a flash!

Fall foliage the first 2 weeks of October, varies year to year & is dependent on rain. If you get a chance drive up the coast tp southern Maine in you can.
Carol, Trip to Boston was a success. While we did not hit all of your suggestions, we did hit the following:
Union Oyster House - stopped for lunch and each of us had a great meal. We also visited Faneuil Hall and the market area - had to buy a Cheers shirt. We visited Fenway Park on the day of the first ACLS game and saw it all dressed up. I now have a better appreciation for why a Red Sox fan is so crazy about their team.
One of the stops we made (almost by accident) was the Holocaust Memorial. Makes you sit back and think about a sad time in our history and like 911 a time we should never let happen again.
We also visited Martha's Vineyard and Niagra on the Lake (Canada side) and several casinos along the way.
Have a great trip in June. Angelo Cusinato
