Yes, Radon is common in the suburbs, but this is still relevant in Denver.

You are correct, radon is much more common in the burbs southwest of Denver. However, I have seen unacceptable levels found in homes in central Denver. So, in short, my answer is yes, have the test done. That way, if it does come out high, we can request that the seller pay for a radon mitigation system.
You will eventually sell your home, and there is a better than average chance that a buyer will conduct a radon test. If you already have a mitigation system in place, you won't even have to worry about it.
With Sheila expecting, making sure that radon is NOT in your home is a good precaution to take with the new baby arriving soon. Please call me if you have any additional questions.

PS - These buyers did do a radon test and the level was under EPA standards and no mitigation system was needed. However, I still believe that when children are involved it is better to be safe than sorry. Also, I think that as a Realtor, you must always CYA, especially when children are involved.
