Seven Selling Myths – Myth #7

By
Real Estate Agent with Chicagoland2to4Flats.info

Myth #7:  When you receive an offer, you should make the buyer wait.
This gives you a better negotiating position.

Truth:  You should reply immediately to an offer!

When a buyer makes an offer, that buyer is, at that moment in time, ready to buy your home.  Moods can change, and you don't want to lose the sale because you have stalled in replying.

And this is just the start of what you'll find at www.Chicagoland2to4Flats.info!!!

Agreed, negotiating position isn't enhanced by delaying a response - it can actually have the opposite effect

Very very true. Waiting serves no negotiating purpose and puts pressure on the closing date. Time is of the essence in every aspect of a real estate transaction.

Oh so good advice....with so many other homes on the market it leaves to much opportunity to move to the next home!
