Where are the birds?

Where are the birds?

There is a new Birds Group on ActiveRain and they are asking members to post information on birding and pictures of our feathered friends. I'm not too good with bird pictures since the birds are not willing to pose for me. On a walk through the Kentlands community in Gaitherburg, Maryland, I found a very nice dog that was willing to sit for a picture. Hopefully, the Birds Group will accept this picture as a reasonable substitute.

If you have some pictures of bird or even bird dogs, please post them in the comments for this post.

I used my Canon PowerShot G11 camera for this photograph. Life is good in Montgomery County, Maryland and the dogs are very friendly. The birds went south for the winter.

Please contact us for information on homes for sale in Montgomery County, Maryland.

Hey Roy, I know what you mean.  Birds have a way of leaving just when you get ready to take their photo.  Now if only we could get the birds to pose like this friendly critter here that has probably chased a few birds in its day!

Thanks for your support!

Roy,

I really like that bird dog... very nice pose!  I have a bird cat I could post but I don't think the birds would like to see him in their group.  My cat is the only pet I have... and I really love him.  He will be 17 years young this April.  Thanks for sharing the photo with us Roy...  I enjoyed it.

I'm still looking for the birds. Good to hear from you! It is a very cold day in Maryland!

Well, he is a bird dog, isn't he? Shayna, one of my kitties, is a bird cat. I always know when there's a great bird shot waiting to happen.

Roy,

Your post is so entertaining! I love to read all the comments. You started a good one! And that beautiful dog... she's the leader of the pack for bird watching.

Roy, This sounds as if it will be a great group.  I am not a birder as they say but I do at times take a picture or two of birds in my yard.  Some I never know what they are because we live in one of the largest flyways in the states. So I will try to post a bird or two.    Photo of some Whitewing Doves below my bird bath in Late October.
