Reason number 76 to live in Denver

Reason number 76 to live in Denver- There are thousands of reasons to live in Denver, but one of the best is the incredible winter weather we get here, today's high is forecast to be 64 degrees, three days ago we were at -12, that is a 76 degree swing, sure we have snow on the ground today, but by Monday people will have the choice to head to the slopes for a day of skiing in near record snow levels, or go to one of the scores of golf courses to fine tune their game.

Many non-locals believe that Denver is buried in snow for 6 months at a time, not true, we have over 300 days of sunshine and I have golfed every day but Christmas and Thanksgiving (my choice, I could have played this past Christmas) and have had snow on my camper on the 4th of July.

I will save other reasons to live in Denver for another time, I just had to share todays forecast.

I also thought Denver was buried in snow for 4 or 5 months.....

Diane- you are definitely not alone, very dry climate, I think our average moisture (rain and snow combined) is 12-18" per year, some areas around the country will get that in a day or two

John, you make me miss Denver. I lived in Lakewood many years ago and explored area around Denver extensively. I remember waking up on winter morning, and not being able to open my door - the snow would be half way up the door. So I would stay in and enjoy hot coffee and great books. I love snow in Colorado. I don't remember those extreme swings you are describing, though.
