Three flower like sculptures made mostly of metal tubing now line the lawn outside Carlsbad's Georgina cole Library.
The artwork, createdby Carlsbad artist Fritzie Urquhart, was moved from a nearby scupture garden and placed in front o fthe library more than a week ago.
The approximately 12 foot tall sculptures are called "Star Light,Star Bright" "Noodles in Flight "and "Trilogee Whiz".
The art bears the essence of a hardware store, constructed of propeller fans typically found on house roofs and conduit housing for electrial wires."Star Light, Star Bright"includes photovoltaic globes that absorb and store energy from the sun in the day and glow at night.
These were kind of a visual metaphor for the energy and action that goes on in side of the library.
The sculpture garden will reopen in March 2011.
