Any history updates for St. Augustine?

Last night at dinner a friend took my little study of Ponce de Leon in America a step farther for me. He said - which I will research - that Ponce de Leon was in Tampa at some point although he did not, as I have said, make it to St. Augustine. What was he doing there??

All hands on deck for Celtic Week in St. Augustine, sponsored by Romanza as part of their pre-festival preparations. They are looking for serious volunteers - should be a lot of fun. Let's all help to make it a success. fun starts March 12th with the St. Patrick's parade at 10am and continues through the week.

The financial news continues to be upbeat with the stock market generally strong, consumer confidence back somewhat and gold and commodities thriving. Although 73.9% of new and existing homes sold in the last quarter of 2010 were affordable to the people with the national earning mean of $64,400, the houseing market still lags behind the rest of the good news. Lack of job creation is of course, primarily the reason for this and the spiraling effect of distressed property sales. Is there s visible end in sight? Housing starts are improving and builders are starting to build again. I can see light at the end of the tunnel. How about you?
